Should I buy the AirPods pro 2nd gen now or wait for 3rd gen?

Main Post:

I currently own a pair of AP pro 1st gen and they’ve been great for the last 2 years. Recently I switched from spotify to apple music and got Apple TV plus subscription. I want an upgrade in sound quality and spatial audio. L

Is it worth it? Side note: I own an apple watch so the rumored heart rate monitoring on the 3rd gen wont be relevant. Thank you!

Top Comment:

Although I will upgrade regardless whenever the new pros come out I truly don’t see how they’ll improve on the pro 2’s enough to be worth waiting for. So if you don’t feel like waiting I’d say just get the 2’s. They’re heavily on sale on Amazon right now.

Apple Refurbished Store is selling 2nd Gen iPad Pro 11 for $469.00

Main Post: Apple Refurbished Store is selling 2nd Gen iPad Pro 11 for $469.00

Top Comment: I’d go for an M chip iPad for the longevity. If you really care about the screen then go for it but I’d go for an iPad Air

Fenix 7 Pro vs Epix 2nd gen?

Main Post:

So, black friday is coming and I have the opportunity to upgrade from my Fenix 6 Pro to either the Fenix 7 Pro Solar (non sapphire) or the Epix 2 (non pro). I've been reading reviews and discussions, but I'm having a hard time making up my mind.

MIPS vs AMOLED is propably not that important for me, since I'm happy with my 6 pro. Although visibility in the dark could be better. The backlight works, but it is an extra button press. I suppose the AMOLED would solve that issue?

If I have understood correctly, the base Epix and 7 Pro have the same sensors on board. So GPS accuracy should be the same. I use the strap for heart rate, so OHR accuracy isn't intrumental for me.

Opinions? Anything else I should consider?

Thanks!

Top Comment:

The Pro has a newer HR sensor and torch flashlight.

The stainless steel version of the Epix doesn't have multi-band gps. Only the sapphire models have it.

Everything else is pretty much the same. The regular Epix has received all the software updates from the Pro.

Apple Pencil Pro vs. Apple Pencil (USB-C)

Main Post:

I currently own an iPad 8th Generation (32GB), but I need to buy a new iPad with more storage. I use my iPad to take notes and do a lot of sketches for school (architecture student). I am torn between purchasing the new iPad (128GB) that’s coming out next week with the Apple Pencil (USB-C) or a renewed 2020 iPad Air 4th Generation (64GB) with the Apple Pencil Pro. The price ends up being around the same, but with the new iPad I can’t use the Apple Pencil Pro but I’d get more storage. With the iPad Air, although I can use the Pencil Pro, it’s older and has less storage. Is the Apple Pencil Pro worth it, more specifically the wireless charging? Or should I just get the new iPad and stick with the regular Apple Pencil?

EDIT: I meant Apple Pencil 2nd Generation, not Apple Pencil Pro 🫠

Top Comment: The USB-C pencil is garbage. It feels flimsy and doesn’t even show up in “Find My”. I ended up returning it. I had an original Apple Pencil and use the converter. The OG Apple Pencil is far better made.

Pro .NET Memory Management 2nd Edition

Main Post: Pro .NET Memory Management 2nd Edition

Top Comment: The author quoted a negative review in a non-disparaging, critical-analysis way of going over how people might misinterpret the new edition. That’s... ballsy. And in terms of building trust, effective. There is always a big risk of quoting a negative review for analysis, not the least that shallow readers may be put off your product because of that negative review, regardless of any actual validity of its arguments. But for those who read deeper, an honest, undefensive, genuinely constructive response to the criticism that doesn’t descend into any forms of ad hominems is a big plus. It is a demonstration of vulnerability that can resonate with those who are willing to empathize. I don’t have an immediate, screaming need for a book like this. The work I do is typically Intranet-based, within companies, not meant for public access. So scalability and the ability to handle millions of users at a time is definitely not a concern of mine. But let’s just say this v2 just ended up on my acquisition radar. Edit: I should also add that [...] I fully support responsible piracy. checks myanonamouse: 0 hits for v2 Whelp... ̄\_(ツ)_/ ̄

How much better are the AirPods 4 or AirPods Pro 2 when compared to second gen AirPods?

Main Post:

My second gen AirPods work just fine at the moment however with Black Friday sales now and cyber Monday coming up I was wondering how much better the higher and newer versions of AirPods were. I’m mostly interested in better sound quality over the features such as noise canceling so if there really isn’t a big difference then I don’t see a reason to upgrade until my current pair breaks

Top Comment: I made the jump from the AirPod 2s to the APP2 yesterday. I’ve owned the AirPod 2s for about two years. The pro 2s sound quality is not that much better to me. There’s improvement, but not $150 worth. I was reading sooo many reviews, and every single one made me expect so much more out of the pros. Unfortunately, I’ve discovered that they were all apple fanboy nonsense. They’re good, but not great. Maybe I just need more time with them. The main benefits are the features - usb c, case wireless charging, noise cancellation, battery widget, smaller size. I wouldn’t wear these outside like I would my gen2s though. transparency mode is alright, but not flawless - my fiancée speaks to me or herself every 25 seconds and I couldn’t hear everything. I’d feel comfortable running through traffic with the gen 2s. I feel that if you’re not interested in the new features or noise canceling, keep the second gen’s until they break.
